We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our Family Law team. The Paralegal will provide support to attorneys by conducting legal research, drafting documents, and assisting with case management. The ideal candidate will have strong litigation skills and be proficient in document review and legal drafting.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct legal research and gather relevant information for cases
- Assist attorneys in preparing legal documents, such as pleadings, briefs, contracts, and agreements
- Organize and maintain case files and documents
- Review and analyze documents for accuracy and completeness
- Prepare and file legal documents with the court
- Coordinate with clients, witnesses, and other parties involved in the case
- Assist in trial preparation, including organizing exhibits and witness lists
- Perform data entry tasks to update case information in document management systems
- Utilize software programs such as Clio, Westlaw, and other legal research tools
- Draft correspondence, memos, and other written materials as needed
- Provide administrative support to attorneys as required
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Minimum 5 years, with at least 1 year in Family Law. Will consider candidates with experience in Civil or Estate Planning.
- Strong knowledge of legal procedures and terminology
- Proficiency in document management systems and legal research tools (i.e., Clio, Westlaw)
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work product
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Familiarity with data entry processes and procedures
